On Oct 30, DuPont commenced operations of its cellulosic ethanol plant in Nevada, Iowa. The plant is the largest cellulosic facility in the world with an annual production of 30 million gallons a year.

The plant produces ethanol from corn stover - stalks, leaves and cobs left in a field after harvest. DuPont said the cellulosic ethanol produced offers a 90 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in comparison to gasoline. Read more about it here
